"... is not a doctor someone who helps someone else?" Hunter 'Patch' Adams
I've had the great good fortune to discover who I am and what I love doing. My sense of self, of who I am, and what's possible has transformed. I love seeing more of who people, teams and organisations are; more of their potential. Transformation comes from uncovering the wonder of who we really are, and fully expressing our potential.
My first career spanned nearly 25 years in IT services, working as a programmer and project manager, sales and business development, and finally international executive leader.

It was a wonderful period working with a number of leading firms and clients, start-ups, investment and retail banking, asset management, insurance, electronics,, and software. I was able to spend time in USA, a lot of Europe, India, Asia, and to live and work in Australia.
In the early 2000s I became dissatisfied. The motivation was waning, a new sense of purpose was developing, I became inspired by a different path. I made the decision to embark on a portfolio career, with being useful to people and organisations at its heart. As many others find, these choices bring confusion and periods of not knowing, as well as profound reward.

I work as a systemic leadership sherpa - coaching and facilitation for leaders, teams and groups. The work is developmental and always systemically oriented. Assignments tend to focus on leadership place, presence and purpose. There is often a need for transformation and increased team or organisational health, resolving stuckness, working with complexity. I love helping to build clients' insight and generative ability, hosting conversational leadership, and harvesting collective organisational intelligence.
This extends to working with clients as they seek to navigate their organisational journey, and to build the leader and team capacities required for successful growth, re-formation and potentially transformation.
I am passionate about my own learning and development, which has been transformational in recent years. I owe appreciation above all to Christina Baldwin for finding me and rescuing me through her writing, and for teaching me The Circle Way with her partner Ann Linnea. David Franks, a pioneering business coach, gave me my first experience of coaching and catalysed my shift to this new career.
Other learnings and teachers include: Campbell's motif of The Hero's Journey; Jaworski and others work on synchronicity and presence; Lencioni's down to earth approach to team cohesion and organisational clarity; Bob Anderson and Bill Adams' work on leadership mastery and business performance; Robert Kegan and Lisa Lahey on adult development, plus Jennifer Garvey-Berger on leading in complexity; Bert Hellinger, John Whittington, Lynn Stoney and Ty Francis work on systemic intelligence and organisational health; Margaret Wheatley, Peter Block, Carol Pearson, Michael Hamman and others on new forms of leadership, and the essential inner journey of agile and transformational leadership.
Most recently I have been inspired and influenced by David Whyte, Laura Beckingham and Dan Cohen as teachers and guides into new understandings of spaciousness, spirit and ancestral influences.
Thank you all!

Alastair’s coaching style was perfect for me in that he stated the elephant in the room (i.e. said things as they are), made me laugh at myself and created the space I needed to make the changes that I wanted to make. I would thoroughly recommend Alastair for any coaching you are considering.
